|Christmas market at Marktplatz
The historical town hall dating back to the 16th century is a magical backdrop for the Christmas market at Marktplatz. Festively decorated stalls are grouped in front of the town hall square - which features one of Dusseldorf's landmarks, the Jan Wellem equestrian statue - and attract visitors with their fragrant sweet treats and unique handicrafts. The almost 100-year-old horse carousel is a special attraction for younger visitors. Likewise, the hand-carved, life-size Bethlehem manger should not be missed when making a circuit of the market.

Engelchenmarkt at Heinrich-Heine-Platz
A truly heavenly Christmas market to stroll around. The festively decorated stalls with wrought-iron floral themes and figures of angels dominate the appearance of this market. The entire Heinrich-Heine-Platz, by the luxury Carsch-Haus department store, is a single sea of lights in the evening that is reflected in the golden angels which can be seen everywhere - a heavenly atmosphere not to be missed.
Christmas market on Flinger Straße
"Flinger Straße creates the Christmas connection between Marktplatz and Heinrich-Heine-Platz. One of the most popular meeting points during the pre-Christmas season here is the traditional mulled wine pyramid".
Sternchenmarkt at Stadtbrueckchen
Crystal and sparkling stars which diffract light into thousands of colours, immerse the courtyard of Wilhelm-Marx-Haus in a mystic light. One of the special features of the market is the mulled wine stand appointed with chandeliers.
Christmas market at Schadowplatz
The traditional wooden huts which are covered in fresh fir sprigs here, impart a good dose of Christmas flair. The spätzle (egg noodle) stands are especially popular, as too is the oldest Poffertjes (Dutch pancakes) stand in Dusseldorf.
Christmas market at Gustaf-Gruendgens-Platz
The 450 m² ice skating rink is the focus of the Christmas market and offers ice skating fun for young and old alike.
